Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Research Article

The Article section of the Advanced Journal of Scientific Research (ADVJSR) publishes original, peer-reviewed research that contributes significantly to scientific knowledge. Submissions must demonstrate originality, academic rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.


Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts must be prepared using the official ADVJSR template (MS Word). Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online system.

Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere during the review process.


Editorial Assessment and Peer Review

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their suitability for the journal. Manuscripts that meet the basic requirements are forwarded for peer review.

  • Authors are encouraged to suggest at least three potential reviewers with relevant expertise.
  • The final selection of reviewers remains at the sole discretion of the editor.
  • The journal follows a rigorous peer review process to ensure quality, validity, and relevance.

Upon acceptance, authors will receive a galley proof via email and are required to review and return corrections within 7 working days. Delayed responses may result in postponement of publication.


Preparation of Submissions

Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

  • Must fit either:
    • Single-column width (8 cm), or
    • Double-column width (17 cm)
  • Should be placed appropriately within the text
  • Captions must be clear, concise, and self-explanatory

Standards and Nomenclature

Authors must strictly follow:

  • SI units
  • IUPAC nomenclature
  • Accepted scientific conventions for reporting analytical, spectral, and crystallographic data

References

  • References must be numbered consecutively in the order of appearance
  • In-text citations should be indicated by superscript numbers placed after punctuation
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all references

Reference Style Examples:

  • Journal Article:
    N.N. Surname1, N.N. Surname2, Abbrev. J. Name, year, volume, first page–last page.
  • Book Chapter:
    N.N. Surname1, in: N.N. Surname2 (Ed.), Book Title, Publisher, Place, year, pp. first page–last page.
  • Patent:

  • Conference Proceedings:

Guidelines for Illustrations

Image Quality

  • Figures must be clear and of high quality (minimum 300 dpi)
  • Avoid unnecessary complexity or excessive coloring
  • Initial submissions may include JPEG files suitable for peer review
  • Accepted manuscripts require high-resolution formats (JPEG, TIFF, or EPS)

Image Size

  • Prepare figures at final publication size:
    • 8 cm (single column) or
    • 17 cm (double column)
  • Figures should not require resizing after submission

Photographs

  • Minimum resolution: 250 dpi
  • Original high-quality images are required
  • Photocopies or low-quality prints are not acceptable
  • Note: Color images may not reproduce accurately in black-and-white print

Proofs

Page proofs will be sent to authors via email. Corrections must be returned promptly, typically within 48 hours.

Only minor typographical corrections are permitted at this stage. Substantive changes will be treated as a new submission.


Correspondence

All correspondence with the editorial office of ADVJSR must clearly include:

  • Manuscript title
  • Author(s) name(s)
  • Submission date
  • Manuscript reference number

Copyright Policy

By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to transfer the copyright of the accepted article to the Advanced Journal of Scientific Research (ADVJSR), Alsharq College of Specialized Technical Sciences.

  • Submission of the Copyright Transfer Form is mandatory upon acceptance
  • Articles will not proceed to publication without this completed form
  • The form can be downloaded from the journal’s website and must be submitted to: editor@advjsr.edu.iq

Publication fees

Article Processing Charges (APC) Information

The Advanced Journal of Scientific Research (ADVJSR) does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, initial screening, or peer review. Authors are only required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) after their manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication by the Editor.

The APC is USD 100 per accepted article. This fee contributes to the costs associated with editorial processing, journal management, website maintenance, DOI registration, digital archiving, indexing services, and the long-term accessibility of published content.

An official invoice will be sent to the corresponding author via email after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. The article will proceed to the production and publication stage once the payment has been confirmed by the editorial office.

Please note that payment of the APC does not influence editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.

A- International Authors

The average publication fee for international authors is 100 USD per accepted manuscript.

Bank Information

Bank account details and payment instructions will be provided to the corresponding author only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. An acceptance notification, together with complete payment information, including the approved payment methods and step-by-step payment procedures, will be sent by email from the editorial office.

Authors are not required to make any payment during the submission or peer-review process. Payment should be completed only after receiving the official acceptance letter and the relevant payment instructions from the journal.


B- Iraqi Authors

For authors inside Iraq, the publication fee is equivalent to 100 USD according to the daily exchange rate in Iraqi Dinars (IQD), excluding the evaluation fee.


Waiver Policy

Advanced Journal of Scientific Research offers partial publication fee waivers to support researchers and promote academic publishing accessibility under the following conditions:

  • 70% publication fee waiver for authors affiliated with institutions in low-income countries.
  • 20% publication fee waiver for MSc and PhD students upon providing valid academic identification or official enrollment documentation.
  • 50% publication fee waiver for authors affiliated with one of the top five Iraqi universities.

All waiver requests are subject to editorial review and approval. Supporting documents may be requested to verify eligibility.
