Information For Authors

Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.

Services for Researchers

Our Journal offers a range of services to support researchers in discovering and accessing relevant journals and articles. Journals are listed alphabetically, making it easy to browse and identify publications aligned with specific fields of study. A powerful search tool helps users locate articles of interest with precision and ease.

Researchers can sign up for email alerts to stay informed about newly released issues of their selected journals. Each journal features a dedicated homepage with detailed information on its aims and scope, as well as clear submission guidelines. For journals available in print, instructions for obtaining physical copies are provided.

Most journals offer full-text access online, while a few host their full content on external websites—direct links are available from each article's abstract page for seamless access.

Articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through Crossref, ensuring permanent identification and long-term accessibility.

 Types of Papers

The journal publishes original research articles and review papers. Authors should ensure that their manuscript fits within the journal’s aims and scope. Before submission, all articles must be written in high-quality English (American or British) and prepared in accordance with the author guidelines.

Submission of Manuscript

The manuscript should be prepared using the ADVJSR template (MS Word) and preferably submitted online or sent to editor@advjsr.edu.iq

Submissions must be original and should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication while being evaluated for this journal.

Copyright

By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to transfer the copyright of the accepted article to the Advanced Journal of Scientific Research, Alsharq College of Specialized Technical Sciences. This transfer is a prerequisite for publication.

Article Processing

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal. If deemed appropriate, the article is then forwarded for peer review.

Authors are encouraged to suggest at least three potential reviewers with relevant expertise; however, the final selection of reviewers is at the sole discretion of the editor.

Following the completion of the peer review process and acceptance of the manuscript, authors will receive a notification via email along with the galley proof. Authors are required to review and respond to the galley proof within 7 working days. Failure to respond within this period may result in delays in publication.

 Preparation of submissions

Tables, figures and illustrations

must be designed to fit either a single-column width (8 cm) or a double-column width (17 cm) and should be placed at appropriate locations within the text. Captions should be clear and sufficiently descriptive to stand alone.

SI and IUPAC standards for nomenclature, symbols, and abbreviations must be strictly observed. Authors should also adhere to accepted conventions for reporting spectral and analytical data and for submitting crystallographic data.

References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text, methods, tables, and figure captions. In-text citations must be indicated by superscript numbers placed after punctuation. Authors are fully responsible for citing works that have been submitted or are in press at the time of submission. Reference formatting should conform to the journal’s style; authors are encouraged to consult a recent issue for guidance.

Guidelines for Illustrations

Image quality:

Figures should be clear and uncluttered. Avoid unnecessary detail, excessive coloring, or overly complex designs. Images must meet print-quality standards, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. At the submission stage, figures should be sufficiently clear for peer review, preferably provided as JPEG files. If the manuscript is accepted, high-resolution figures in JPEG, TIFF, or EPS format will be required.

 Image size:

Illustrations should be prepared at their final publication size: 8 cm for single-column width or 17 cm for double-column width. Figures should not require resizing after submission.

Photographs:

Submit high-quality digital photographs with a minimum resolution of 250 dpi, or provide original prints. Computer printouts or photocopies are unsuitable for publication. Note that color photographs often do not reproduce well in black-and-white printing.

 Proofs

Page proofs will be sent to authors by e-mail. Corrections should be returned to the editor as promptly as possible, typically within 48 hours of receipt. Only typographical or minor errors may be corrected at this stage; substantive changes to the content will be considered a new submission.

Correspondence

All correspondence with the ADVJSR editor must clearly identify the manuscript and include the authors’ names, paper title, date of submission, and the manuscript reference number assigned by the editor.
